Basic Computer Science: Key Name for your computer keyboard

It is just a very interesting thought the came into my mind when I try to document some computer code. All of sudden, I just could not remember what the name is for the little character above the number 6 key. "^", this is it. What do you call it? That might be kids question, but I got those type of questions all the time, both from myself and our co-workers, even I am a software tech guy. :)

So, here we go, I put them into a chart, just for quick reference.

Kevin is a computer software engineer. He likes all high tech stuff, such as iphone, facebook and twitter. And of course, he loves playing wii too.

Kevin, I was kicking myself for not remembering the name of that character off the top of my head as I too am in the computer field. The tilde is another one of those characters that I see a lot of basic level pc users not sure what to call it. Great post!

YES! I looked at 5 other links before this one that actually named the key I was looking for "~" tilde. I was using it in a password and couldn't think of the name when I was talking to customer service. I had to look it up again though for pronuciation.
